RE: Darcey Deetz: I wanted to take a moment to write about Darcey Deetz. I met Darcey a little over a year ago after just completing the renovation of my first home in Palm Springs. The real estate market had tanked during the remodel, the home was extremely over-improved, and all I wanted was to lick my wounds and get the hell out of the desert…that is, until Darcey became my full-time realtor/part-time psychiatrist. Since then, she's acted as my agent on multiple transactions, selling my home quickly and for a price that made it possible for me to purchase my second home in Palm Springs, which has already proved to be a sound investment, and one that I hope to enjoy for many years to come. That said, when it does come time to sell, Darcey will be my first call. I can honestly say that she's the reason I decided to keep a residence in Palm Springs and the one person who gave me the confidence and knowledge to invest once again in real estate. For this, and for our friendship, I will always be extremely grateful. I rarely write recommendations. In fact, this is only my second one. The first was several decades back for an aspiring film director named Steven Spielberg. Yes, that Spielberg. Not really. RE: Donna Peace We have been considering retirement in the Palm Springs area for quite some time, and have always been drawn to the Mountain Gate tract in North Palm Springs. We’ve driven through the tract many times, but never took any action. We had spent this past Labor Day in Palm Springs, and once again, we drove through the tract. This time we found a home that we were interested in and decided to call. That call lead to the beginning of a great relationship with Donna Peace. We had not bought a home in over 20 years, so we were unsure of what to do. After a few minutes, we knew that Donna would be our choice for a realtor. Donna took the time to find out what we were looking for, and what our interests were – not only in the area, but our lifestyle as well. The following weekend we went to see the home. RE: Marc Lange Marc has been my agent for over two and one-half years and has helped me purchase three investment condos: two that were short sales and one that was part of a bankruptcy proceeding. Throughout these transactions, Marc always listened to what my goals and objectives were in these purchases while being a true professional. Please let me explain what I meant by Marc’s professionalism. First, he was not only knowledgeable about real estate laws, but he had an in depth understanding of the processes for short sales and bankruptcy sales. Additionally, with one of the short sales, Marc demonstrated his commitment to staying with his client; the condo had two banks holding mortgages and Homeowner Association violations that needed to be negotiated and resolved before escrow could close. With Marc’s patient perseverance and several months of hard work, I was able to close. RE: Marc Lange / Carl Blea When we began to think about purchasing a new home, we thought about push agents with a lack of real knowledge about home inventories and awful days in the car with an unprepared agent. When a friend told us to check out Carl and Marc, we did so hesitantly. Wow! Was I surprised! Marc and Carl were the opposite of all our concerns! They had an in depth knowledge of the inventories in the areas we were interested in and knew the prices in detail. Even though we were indecisive in today’s economy, Marc and Carl planned our days and eliminated wasted time. And, we began to look forward spending time with them looking at home. RE: Marc Lange It’s so good to hear from you! Yes, time does seem to fly by Can hardly believe how long it’s been since we did our “long-distance” real estate deal. We still laugh about it with the lady who volunteers at the church office. Wish we could tell you that we actually live in our Palm Springs home. We are still living and working in Minnesota. We have a lease tenant who rents year round. It works better financially for us even though it means we can’t use it at this time. There is some “light at the end of the tunnel”, however. We are planning on retiring in a couple of years and look forward to spending the winters in the desert. In the mean time we come out once or twice a year and stay with my sister and brother-in-law I did get to stay in it when I was there getting it ready for rental. I absolutely loved it! In regard to your new position, I would like to say that you will definitely be an asset to a client service program. You did such a great job for Tom and I in our very challenging situation. We are grateful to you and we feel you went “above and beyond”. To summarize: We were interested in buying a condo in Palm Springs. We had tried to negotiate a deal but were not successful. My sister met Marc at an open house and we contacted him from Minnesota. The listing he had was sold but he told us about another listing that had just been reduced. It was the property we had wanted originally. Marc had to do some tough negotiating for us but our offer was finally accepted. It became even more challenging as we had to complete all the necessary steps via internet, fax and phone. Marc was very helpful and patient through the whole process.
